The Holy Spirit and the seven gifts: guide to receive them

The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit are permanent gifts that God grants to the faithful to strengthen their spiritual life, make them docile to the voice of God, and enable them to act according to His will.

The 7 Gifts

1. Wisdom: The ability to see and value things from God's perspective.
2. Understanding: Illuminates our minds to understand the mysteries of faith.
3. Counsel: Divine intuition that guides us in moments of doubt.
4. Fortitude: Provides the necessary courage to practice virtues and overcome adversities.
5. Knowledge: Allows us to recognize God in His creation.
6. Piety: Awakens a filial affection towards God, treating Him as a Father.
7. Fear of the Lord: A deep respect and reverence for the greatness of God.

How to cultivate them?

They are received in Baptism and strengthened in Confirmation. To cultivate them, constant prayer invoking the Holy Spirit, inner docility to His inspirations, and a frequent sacramental life are recommended.
